cover holes?

When our cover is in the up position there are two holes that form on the left side of that upper seam edge. They are spaced just above the rear coners of the griddle. Just what are they there for? Am I missing parts? Timer? Light? Splatter shield? Or is this some esoteric vent path. Any ideas? Please help this newbe!!

John, I looked on both my 90-C and my 15-B and I'm not seeing what you're talking about. Are you talking about the fold-down stove-top cover? What model? Got pictures?

Here is the picture. Yes, I am talking about the fold down cover or lid. My stove pre-dates the A series. I believe it to be a 'Thousand series' (at least that is what Ed, the Antique Stove man indicated. It's an [i]Automatic Gas Range[/i]. Thanks for looking.

ok im going to make a guess... i think it might be vent holes to let the heat out of the stove top when you put the lid down. thats my guess its nothing more then that.

Must be something they dispensed with on the B's top. At least mine doesn't do that.

I'm pretty sure those must be flower holders.
